I've been to the Argyle several times with mixed experiences. During burger week (2014?) they had one of my favourite entries, and my experiences with it as a restaurant have been generally positive. The rooftop can be really nice in the summer as well. I'm not a fan of the evening experience though, where at times the floors get segregated by different cover charges. It's the opposite of bars like Cheers or The Lower Deck, where all members of a large group can find what they want in one location.

If I could give a 0/5 I would. I am utterly disgusted and extremely disapointed with the service given at Argyle Bar and Grill. Tonight was my first time going there, and I hated every second of it. First, my friends and I arrive for dinner at 7pm. Wasn't really busy, it was a pretty chill night. We waited for about 20 minutes for our sever (Jackie) to come to the table. She asked for our drinks, and we gave them to her. We got the drinks half an hour later...... I'm sorry but it just doesn't take that long to get drinks. We then proceeded to wait another hour for our food, and at this point it was 8:40pm and we were starving. Once our food finally came, we noticed they put onions on my friends pizza when she specifically asked for no onions. What if she was allergic? What would've happened then? Then we noticed they didn't give the right pasta to my friend, AND it was undercooked. My other friends lobster roll was just god awful. I have no complaints about the burger though, other than the fact that it said on the menu that it costs $1.50 for extra toppings but they charged me $2. We were all so hungry so we ate our food and didn't want to wait another hour to eat. After we finished eating we were waiting for our waitress to come around and see that we were done so we could get our bills and leave. Yet, she never did. I didn't see her for the rest of the night. So after 30 minutes of waiting we just wanted to speak with a manager or another waitress. thankfully they got us our bills and gave us 30% off for the inconvenience. In total we spent 3 hours there..... it took way too long. Just don't go here ever, go to Boston Pizza, or any other restaurant or bar in the city. Don't waste your time. I think its safe to say I'm never going back again.

I was invited to a friends birthday get together here, it was going well, until our waitress decided to take some time from her day to finally get around to serving us. Immediately, she looked like it was a huge bother to bring menus, was incredibly impersonal and uncaring, and after getting our order, which was a burger and fries and a beer each, was not seen again unless retrieved by someone. This would be understandable if it was busy, but it was our table of perhaps 12, a four person, a couple twos and none of them were ordering food at all. I spoke to my friend, told him what happened, he said he had no plans to tip either, as he too was very disappointed with the service. You missed out on what could have been hundreds of dollars more in tips from all of us who had planned on spending money, AND managed to be the first waiter I have refused to tip. That $60 for a burger fries and three drinks was a bit pricey, however if you had bothered to bring, say, cutlery, or even a fork, some napkins or at least bothered to make sure a table of twelve had even one, or lastly, stuck around for 10 seconds once you rudely put my food in front of me and heard me ask for ketchup, you would have gotten the $30 I was going to tip. You missed out on a 50% AND caused your restaurant to get a review on here. Trust me people, there are dive bars I've been in with better service. Judging by this comment below "Jen H a year ago- The service was really bad. We were first escourted to our table and handed menus which was good, but then we were waiting for 35 minutes to order and a waitress never once came to our table, only walked passed us. It was not very busy and many waitresses were standing around eating. So we got up and left the restaurant. (This happened a few days ago.)" Looks like this is a common trend.
